The Veterans Behind Your CMMC Assessment

We’re not a giant firm assessing you from the outside. Cybersec Investments is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business and an SBA 8(a) certified firm — so we navigate the same rules, feel the same cost pressures, and carry the same mission you do.

A Veteran-Led Organization

We don’t just serve the defense community — we come from it. More than 40% of our staff wore the uniform, and that firsthand understanding of the mission shapes every assessment we deliver.

U.S. Army U.S. Navy U.S. Air Force U.S. Marine Corps U.S. Coast Guard

Collectively, our team gave decades to the uniform — through basic training, deployments, and the daily discipline of military life. They stood on the front lines and down range, kept the watch over contested waters, and held the flight line through the night. They swore to place the mission first, to never accept defeat, to never quit, and to leave no one behind — guardians of freedom, a nation’s sword and shield, its sentry and its avenger.

Between them, they served in multiple different combat operations over the last 25 years. They were on active duty during the bombing of the USS Cole and the attacks of September 11th, and deployed in support of operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and beyond — they know firsthand what’s at stake when the mission is on the line.

That service asked more of them than time. Some carry wounds, seen and unseen. Many missed the moments most people never have to — the birth of a child, a milestone at home, the chance to say goodbye to someone they loved — because the mission came first. Those are days you can’t earn back, and they gave them anyway.

That oath doesn’t expire when the uniform comes off. We still serve — we just changed how, and we’re still in the fight and in it to win it. It’s the same standard we carry into every assessment: mission first, no shortcuts, no one left behind. Protecting your Controlled Unclassified Information is how we keep faith with the warfighters we once served beside.

The Flag of Veterans

Now and Then — hover or tap a face to see them in uniform.

A few faces you won’t find here. Like a certain crack commando unit, some of our veterans prefer to keep a low profile — still very much on the team, just off the grid. If you’ve got a CMMC problem and no one else can help… you can still hire them.

We’re a Small Business, Too

Cybersec Investments isn’t just veteran-owned — we’re a small business, the same as most of the contractors we assess. As a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and an SBA 8(a) certified firm, we operate under the same federal programs, the same procurement rules, and the same cash-flow realities you do.

That changes how we work with you. We know what a compliance investment means to a small shop, and what a certification means for your next contract. We’ve sat on your side of the table.

And because we navigate these same programs ourselves — the certifications, the goals, the paperwork — we understand what they ask of a small shop, not in theory but in practice.

And we’re not the only ones in this fight. Plenty of veteran-owned small businesses stand behind the warfighter, and we respect every one of them. The mission has always been bigger than any single company — we’re proud to do our part alongside them.

The Rules, the Costs, the Mission

Three things a small defense contractor can’t afford to get wrong — and three things we live alongside you.

We Understand the Rules

SBA set-asides, sole-source authority, and subcontracting goals aren’t abstractions to us — we’re an SDVOSB and 8(a) firm ourselves. We know how these programs shape a small contractor’s year, because they shape ours.

We Understand the Costs

As a small business, we know cash is your most constrained resource — and that a failed assessment isn’t just a re-do fee. For a small shop it can mean a lost contract you can’t absorb. We scope and quote with that reality in mind.

We Understand the Mission

Our veteran-heavy team served inside the systems this framework protects. A certification that doesn’t hold up puts CUI, the supply chain, and the warfighter at risk. We assess to the standard because we’ve lived the stakes.

Specialists in Defense Compliance

The largest assessment firms run a broad commercial catalog — SOC 2, PCI, HITRUST, and more — across industries with nothing to do with defense. We built our practice the other way: around the standards that govern the Defense Industrial Base. As an Accredited C3PAO we conduct official CMMC Level 2 assessments, and as a certified SCF 3PAO we assess against the Secure Controls Framework.

For a contractor betting a contract on the outcome, that focus matters. Our assessors go deep in NIST SP 800-171A, DFARS, and 32 CFR Part 170 — the requirements that decide your certification — rather than spreading thin across compliance regimes built for other industries.

Accredited, Veteran-Owned, Verifiable

Cybersec Investments holds Accredited C3PAO status (ISO/IEC 17020:2012) and is listed on the Cyber AB marketplace. Our SDVOSB and 8(a) certifications are on federal record.
